General Instructions for Animals  

The ideal way to give flower essences to your animal is to put 3-5 drops of the essence or essences in his fresh water daily so he gets it each time he drinks. Water is the perfect medium for delivering the essences to an animal. Animals often quickly come to understand the essences and their action; and, when the essences are put in an animal's water, he can seek it out during the day when he feels he needs it by drinking from his water bowl.

Other ways to administer the essences are to put a drop on your finger tip and pat it onto the pads of your animal's foot or rub it gently into the tips of his ears daily. Essences are different from Western medicine in the sense that perfect dosages are not required. All that is needed is for the essence to come in contact with the animal, so you don't need more than a couple drops.

You can also put a bowl or several bowls of water containing a few drops of the essence around the place or places where your animal spends a lot of his time, and the essence will evaporate into the atmosphere and get to him in this way as well. If his water bowl is situated near him, it will also create this effect. There is a small amount of alcohol stabilizer in the essence which is not harmful to animals or people and evaporates completely within a few minutes after the drops enter the water.

Taking the essence with your animal, if you're willing to do so, is the best approach as it will harmonize your energies as healing takes place. You should just drop 3-5 drops under your tongue daily, trying not to touch your tongue to the dropper so as not to contaminate the bottle. The essence can be taken by all the animals in a multi-animal household and will have the effect of harmonizing the energy of all the beings in the household. The essences can do no harm and contain only the virtues of the various plants from which they are made. Therefore, they are beneficial for everyone in the household, in addition to the animal being treated.

If you can connect with your wishes for your animal (and yourself if you take it as well) to heal as you give him the essence, that would be great. If you have a spiritual tradition that is meaningful to you, you can use something from that tradition, such as a brief prayer or blessing, as well as you give the essences, if you like.
