Instructions for Dying Animals

flower essences for dying animals“Anaflora offers several flower essence formulas and many single essences to assist an animal in its death process and to help you let go and keep your heart wide open to the experience at hand. The animal will then be able to release herself from earthly ties and responsibilities, and ease more comfortably into the transition called death. By taking essences with your animal, the two of you will experience increased bonding at the soul level and can more easily transcend the illusion of separation. You, all members of the family (human and animal), and the dying animal can take the flower essence formulas or single essences together.

  • Several drops of each flower essence formula and/or single flower essence selected can be put in a bowl of water and placed close beside the animal. In this way the animal will receive the qualities of the essences as the water evaporates.
  • A drop or two of a dilution can be placed directly into the animal’s mouth, or on her lips, footpads, ears, or the top of her head.
  • Several drops of essence straight from the bottle can be placed in your hands. Rub your hands together and then stroke the animal, if appropriate, or stroke the air an inch or two above his body. The essences will be received into his auric field.
  • Leave the flower essence bottle near the animal when not being used.

After death

  • After death occurs, several drops of essence can be used to anoint the animal’s body before burial. The gravesite and the air around it can be sprayed with essence before and after the body is laid to rest.
  • Many people who use Anaflora Flower Essences choose to bury the unused portion of the essence in the flower essence bottle with the animal as a token of love. Others take the remaining essence themselves until the bottle is empty. Do whatever you feel is most appropriate in your situation, by following the guidance of your heart.
  • Take appropriate essences yourself to enhance your bond with your animal during her after-death journey, and to ease your attachment and grief.
  • Keep in mind that other members of your family, even those who seem unaffected by the death, may be grieving in their own silent way. Offer essences to them as well.
  • Animals grieve just as humans do. Make sure to offer appropriate essences to the surviving animals in the family.”
